The personal voice behind a remarkable journey

in 17 June 1977Steve Winwood, already known as a founding member and lead singer of Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith, took a decisive step: it released first solo album of his career. The album, simply titled Steve WinwoodIt was a statement of identity and artistic maturity, even if it did not achieve the commercial success that would follow in his subsequent works.

Although did not achieve huge commercial success (reaching #22 on the Billboard 200 and #12 on the UK charts), Steve Winwood is now considered a key album. It paved the way for his future achievements, such as the legendary Arc of a Diver (1980) and Back in the High Life (1986), which established him as a solo star.
