Follow the black rabbit..
My name is Paschalia Bora aka Ester Myrsky (myrsky is the Finnish word for storm) and I welcome you to my artistic the land of miracles.
Ever since I can remember myself, I have been drawing, at first filling in every blank space in children's stories and then countless sketchbooks. This habit continued in math and history books with influences from gothic metal culture, Tim Burton and anime.
As a self-taught artist I started experimenting with acrylics (of course I was watching my favorite afana painter, Bob Ross) and then with various materials.
As a student, I had the opportunity to participate in self-organized festivals and exhibitions with paintings and photography.
When I was 25, winning a scholarship to Comic–on Thessaloniki για σπουδές σε Graphic design / 3D animation, I had the chance to pursue more creative studies at last (trying to leave law behind), although I was not a friend of technology, always preferring manual work. Through my studies I experimented with video, graphic design, storyboard and I had the opportunity to get to know more technically aspects in art, and especially to get in touch with art history, which then led me to Master μου Art Law & Arts Management.
During my graphic design studies, I had the opportunity, together with my fellow students, to create a short–film animation based on a little story I'd written called 'ELIJAH 2070', and to participate in the Panorama AUTH Film Festival καθώς και στο Edessa Short Film Festival. That was the trigger for me to get more involved in creating stories, writing comics.
In recent years, I have focused on sketching with pen and ink, but also on other techniques and arts such as pyrography, embroidery and Lino printing. My inspiration lately finds influences in the currents of Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts and in Japanese art. At the same time, I participated in the ARTBOX PROJECTS in Venice.
In 2023, I had the opportunity to participate in the LA Comics Festival (Larissa) at artists alley along with many excellent artists as well as in the WAKE UP Festival (Assumption of Serres).
Now, based in Alicante, Spain, in mid-May θα I'm doing my first solo painting exhibition here in Alicante on images from my travels and Spain's cultural heritage. I am very excited about this opportunity in a country that is home to so much art.
That's all from me, thank you. Wishes for more art in the world.
Hasta luego!
