The Flow

Creative Writing Journal - Therapeutic Writing

"Where do words go when we don't say them? How does a story that has not been told begin?"

Our story began simply, with a casual meeting, a glass of wine, some food, and a lot of conversation. That's where the desire to do something with writing was born. Not just another workshop; there are plenty of those. We wanted something more personal, something that touched our everyday lives. The real connection came when we thought of diaries. That's when the spark was lit. We came up with the idea of creating a writing diary, a notebook that challenges you to write, that puts you in dialogue with yourself. To bring writing into our everyday lives. Not just for us, but for you too.
How many people choose to write today? Few, I would say. And yet, we all need to express ourselves. We didn't want to "create" writers, but to inspire people to pick up a pencil and face their blank page. To get started. At first, nothing was certain. We didn't know if it would "work out." We were separated by a few kilometers, we weren't even in the same city, nor did we know each other well. And yet, this risk became a challenge. We started with months of preparation, exercises, trials, and planning. We experimented. And slowly, something began to take shape.
Along the way, life got in the way: distance, losses, work, health issues. All of these delayed the creative process. And yet, somehow, it continued through all of this, which "nurtured" us to build it. Each of us in our own time, sometimes one, sometimes the other. And then, together again. It was as if we were opening a new door each time. A connection that gradually matured.
The calendar went through many forms. It changed colors, content, structure. Right up until the last minute, just before the first test print, ideas were constantly coming in. Until, within three days, our own texts were included: short stories, poems, tales that became the basis for the challenges you will find in its pages.
And now, finally, it has taken the form we had in mind, even though we didn't recognize it at first. A circular calendar, divided into twelve acts of writing. Acts that matured slowly, because whatever you desire deeply needs to find its own crack in the darkness. And why the name "flow"? Because no matter what happens in life, no matter how difficult things get, there is a path, a breath that leads you, willingly or unwillingly, and you find the paths you desire.
Someone might ask me:
"Why should I keep a writing journal in my bag or on my nightstand? Do I need it?"
We live on screens. From the morning alarm clock to eating, working, and relaxing, everything is planned on a screen. And yet, somewhere in between, we need to take a little breather. A point of contact with ourselves. You don't have to be a writer. All you need is the desire to write.
Write consciously; touch upon your deepest thoughts and desires.
In this notebook-diary, you will find activities that inspire joy and creativity. Perhaps you will create a recipe; perhaps you will "cook up" a story using the ingredients of a meal. Perhaps you will want to record an important event, revisit a moment, remember, erase, laugh, or be moved.
As you leaf through it, you will discover your own life. You will stand in the here and now. You will see the flow of the day unfolding before you, and perhaps then you will realize that no moment is insignificant.
