When the live appearance of the Baboon Show in Greece was announced, my reaction to the announcement was shocking. One of my favourite bands was coming to Thessaloniki and Athens for two unique performances. The only and first thoughts that crossed my mind were: Yes! I have to go! I can't miss this live show. Having planned my solo trip some time ago, I set off for neighbouring Thessaloniki, where I had planned various activities (coffee breaks) to fill my day. Until night fell and it was time for the doors to open. Before we get to the point, let me tell you a couple of things about the band... The Baboon Show is a dynamic band from Sweden with pure Rock n Roll from their songs to their live performances. I think the word ‘madness’ fits perfectly. So, getting down to business, the opening act was postponed by a band called ‘Fygi,’ a four-piece band with a dynamic stage presence, who warmed us up with their songs for about 30 minutes, if I'm not mistaken. When the moment I had been waiting for so long finally arrived, seeing three-quarters of the band on stage and Cecilia entering with the microphone, I knew I was about to experience the ultimate rock “n” roll. With songs like ‘Rolling,’ ‘Holiday’, “Shame” and from their new EP ‘Walk the Walk’, and enjoying the audience in combination with Cecilia giving her all on stage, even stage diving and singing on the tables. I experienced and we experienced an absolute rock n roll night... The highlight of the evening was a moment that no one will ever forget: a man proposing to his beloved while the band played the song ‘Gold.’ Go where your heart takes you and, above all, live Rock n Roll.
