Choose life

I've seen several movies but the one that stamped me the most is Trainspotting.A movie that is so much in what it says about the everydayness of life that still applies today
A film that is (NOT) just about drugs but something much more.A film that despite its small budget managed to make people question their choices.
A film that shows the harsh reality of drugs without pushing you towards them as most people think, but also the other side of the coin that is considered by many as the ideal life: career, marriage, children.
In this dilemma was Renton despite what he "heard" he knew very well that he was a burden to his parents because of his problems. He knew very well that if he continued to hang out with the other 3 (Simon, Spud, Begbie) who had no dreams but a common goal of drugs, he would end up like Tommy. But he also knew that the choose life which was presented (and is presented to us) as the ideal, the daily routine of get up go to work come back from work eat watch TV sleep and again the same for 365 days a year (something I see in my own daily life and from me and those around me) was something that did not excite him.The only way was to choose between good and bad, right and wrong
The absolute freedom and self-destruction through drugs or the prosaic everyday life and the values that society presents as the ideal life?
He choosed life
