The story of Convicted starts in 1998 in Volos, when Socrates Konstantinou (bass) and Yannis Kospantsidis (vocals, guitars) - friends of each other and fans of Thrash Metal - decided to express themselves through their common influences, making their own music. In May 2002 Lazaros Kourtis took over the drums and with this lineup a year later (2003) they recorded their first full length demo album "Nuclear Escape" at Rocksound Studios in Thessaloniki. The demo includes some of their classics, such as "Minds of War", "Merciless", "Conscious Apology".
Convicted have been present in many live shows in Greece along with bands like Sodom, Tankard, DRI, Attacker, Last Hope, Suicidal Angels etc. In 2005 they played as co-headliners with American thrashers Heathen at the 3-day Thrash 'till Death festival in Germany.
In 2010 they recorded their first self-titled album which was released by Slaney Records. It contains some of their strongest tracks such as "Copkiller", "Fuck off and Die" and Stand up "
In 2013, the band - with Nikos Sidiropoulos this time on drums - composed new material which was never released due to the departure of Yannis Kospantsidis (vocals, guitars), which led to a six-year hiatus...
In 2019 Socrates Konstantinou along with Apostolis Oroklos (lead guitar), Evangelia Kleanthi (rhythm guitar), Achilleas Fatsis (drums) and Minas Nikolaidis (vocals) formed the new lineup of Convicted. In 2021 their 2nd full length album "Seeds of Deception" was recorded at S. Recording Studios in Volos and released in December 2022 by Vinyl Store.gr Records.
In September 2022 they appeared at the Golden R Festival (Volos) presenting their new work.
CONVICTED continue to play Thrash, true to their principles!
