The journey of creation began in early December 2023. The occasion was a friend of mine, who wanted to visit a psychologist, but had some
doubts and certainly her finances did not facilitate this move. At first, I had gotten her a gift of a trade journal so that she could be a little more prepared, when she eventually went to a therapist, to have already made some
realizations. However, what I got was not what I expected. I from
the other day I was in a weird place. I was tired of school, tired of life, tired of doing almost nothing. And yet, while I'd left the projects for a while, I got the idea to make something handmade for her. So what better way than to make her something personal, something that would help her have a sweeter life and utilize the knowledge I already had! That's when the research and ideas started...
At first I was thinking of making something smaller, but as time went on, something new
was coming to me. She would tell me her problems and I would think about what could help her. She had gotten her first job, she was renting a new house and I, with my love of organizing, was thinking about her needs and difficulties and trying to find ways to make them more enjoyable. Lots of questions: What is useful to record? In what way? How to make it fun and not boring? Could it help me? What did I need too? Then came the first excitement! I started talking about it with friends and seeing what they cared about.
the world, what he forgets, what he needs reminding of, what he writes down on papers and then loses them... Through all the conversations I saw what my surroundings and I care about and
I managed to come up with so many ideas that "something new" became a diary and
then one became four: the annual, the quarterly, the weekly and the
daily two-page spread. I was no longer planning not only for my friend, but for me and for friends in general. Each handmade journal focused on the
goals, experiences, organisation, emotions and health and accordingly
the needs of each one I would give him the corresponding one.
And after I designed the majority of the frames, the drawings and all the
types of recording, practical difficulties arose.
Where do I print them? On what paper will the printing be done, so that the
recordings to be made in colours or symbols, as I had thought, and not to
are the rest of the pages stained? What kind of binding will each diary have?
These difficulties and so many others, which came afterwards, more and more
delayed the final form of the calendars, because as I solved one, I had to
reviewing all the pages of the diaries... over and over again! I printed for
myself one of each kind to see how friendly I ended up using them,
because if there was one thing I was bored of, it was the blank pages that the shared calendars had.
I wanted there to be room for all aspects of each user's life, so that
can organize it better, to understand what presses him and what presses him
thanks. And since I was satisfied with the result, it was time to give
2 calendars to my friend. The birthday present was 4 months late of course, but
I think it was worth it! The friend was thrilled to see them for the first time. She deliberately didn't
I hadn't told her anything about this trip so she wouldn't have to wait for her gift. She went crazy
with plans, and with some specific columns. And he started writing! Although
I'm just a psychology enthusiast and I don't have the knowledge or expertise of a psychologist, I hope the diaries helped her to explore
a little more about the causes of her stress, anger and sadness. And
we expect her to make one of the best gifts she can to herself and
goes bolder in her first session!
I, on the other hand, without realizing it, found something new
something I could channel my creativity and energy into.
my organizational skills, something that gave me hope and life again! The diaries
acquired the name "Day Color" and the name acquired a logo. It was introduced to friends and acquaintances and then to their own friends. And now, since, it has helped me and my friends, the new goal is to be able to be a companion to those who need it!
