Melan Selas is a black metal band from Trikala, Greece. They started as a studio project on 2015, consisted of two members, D.K., who handles all the instruments and the music composition, and Astraea, the vocalist and lyricist of the band.
They released their debut work, a self-titled EP, on February of 2016.
The LP "ῬΕΟΝ" followed on May of 2018, including the tracks of the "Melan Selas" EP, plus two new songs. Their first official full album, called "ΦΑΟΣ", came out on September of 2019 and on September of 2023 their latest full album, "Zephyrean Hymns", was released via The Circle Music.
The music genre of the band could be described as epic and atmospheric black metal, with strong hellenic black metal influences, while the lyrical themes of the band are about ancient times, nature and philosophy. Melan Selas came live on stage for the first time on February of 2019 and had a couple of shows that year. Currently, they are performing live again promoting their newest release.
