Poetry, essays, novels, monologues, letters, diaries....In a word-art. A book can transport you to distant worlds, other times, and most importantly give you the impetus to embrace yourself first and then those around you.
From an early age I tended to read everything I could get my hands on, from newspapers to medical encyclopaedias from my mother's library. I was lucky enough to study in Athens, taking advantage of the opportunity for countless visits to the old bookshops of the city. Various fairs throughout the year , provide books at very low prices.
One Saturday morning when I had a day off, I went to Exarchia Square to see the disappointing little exhibition, since that was my first impression. But fate proved me wrong as I found a masterpiece by Oscar wilde . De profundis , I had no idea what the title meant, nor had I heard anything about this particular work. With a quick glance at the back cover, I decide to buy it. The latest work by this misunderstood artist came along and snapped whatever cracked piece of my heart. From inside prison he wrote a letter to his former partner that was the reason for the sentence he was given. A hymn to selfless love, touching on all its facets. A one-sided love debilitates Oscar leading him to prison, where he recognizes his mistakes, realizes the bad influence of his friend , on his inspiration , his psyche and by extension his career. The dissolution of his empire and his family saddens him, but he remains faithful to expressing his feelings and continues with this masterpiece to give courage to those who love , need to achieve their dreams and proves that time comes to fulfill everything.
He believes that successful artists hide some perversion, without this being reprehensible. So their various concerns and sensitivities try in multiple ways to pour out of their troubled souls.
A pioneering artist, raises concerns , helps delineate healthy love and exploitation.
True love has no conditions. You give the other person the freedom to choose you for who you are.
It is a book that should be read by everyone , perhaps more than once.
Open the mind, the heart, to read the testimony of the soul of a man in pain. To give a basis for not becoming the oppressor of someone else's feelings, even unintentionally. Good reading!
