The scene I'm going to write is probably one of the most beautiful scenes in cinema and beyond.
It is from the French film happily ever after a comedy drama film that explores the nature of romance and life's expectations and an unexpected question of why no one can feel complete ( how true)
But let me stay in the scene where the unknown character played by Johnny Depp as a guest in the film, being in a shopping mall and curious if the sound machines that were everywhere (yes, I caught it) are playing something good, meets Gabrielle who is already there and hears the first notes of Radiohead's creep ( no comment )
A pointed question from Johnny about whether they were listening to the same song was enough for Gabrielle
Embarrassment Stealing glances and Gabrielle's staring at Johnny until the moment he leaves, greeting her with a nice look and she continues to look at him until she is lost in the crowd
The icing on the cake came when under the lyrics She run run run runn she without a second thought runs to look for him all over the mall where she finally finds him and as one looks at the other Johnny shows that he finally got the cd like she did (like me) and then Gabrielle leaves the mall
A favourite scene, a favourite song in a time so far away with technology having "conquered" us, depriving today's era of face to face contact and the reactions, embarrassments etc. of that time.
- A nice awkward meeting
