MORA's sensational Nitocris was recently released with eight iconic songs.

The opening "birds" gives you the feeling that you are listening to a British post punk band. Hitchcock and Edgar Allan Poe seem to be standing in the lyrics.
Then comes "Thoughts of Poe", a strong darkwave track that takes us to the 80s with a modern look and lyrics worthy of the title...

The legendary evil queen of Egypt Nitocris who haunted the imagination of the peoples of the region for more than a thousand years comes to life through the next song, the album's title track, with heavy doses of goth! Great lyrics and timbre that fits perfectly .

Listening to the house of horror that is the next track you think you are watching , a thriller with the lyrics in the role of a narrator to give you goosebumps.

"Black Mirrors" treads on cold wave paths in a unique way and with a reflective lyric that constantly triggers your thoughts... the guitar themes combined with the analogue synth at the end of the album reminds The Sound at their best.

"Visions of the Absinthe" brings to life all the dark creatures that haunted the people of the last century, as depicted in books and related films. Musically it's a strong and solid mix of electro goth and punk with metallic hints and a totally British post punk antithesis !

The "gods of the underworld" then come to condemn modern "civilization" in a tribal goth ! musical concoction. The finale is shocking with the priesthood invoking the gods and the loud guitars embraced by the a la dead can dance choral chants !

And just when you think you've heard everything from this band, the "white lady" comes to close the album. A dark waltz with a symphonic chorus and outro. The song refers to the ghost of the white lady of the tresson that is still seen to this day in her region in France. The lyrics tell the story of the lady dressed in a dark romance aura and baroque forms taking us to 1730 to 1750 where this true story is dated.
We really don't know what more we could expect from this band. We will follow their progress with interest !
