Typhus was formed in 2009 as Nuclear Terror with Thrash/Speed Metal influences from Megadeth, Testament to Annihilator. After member changes, the line-up stabilized by the end of 2013. Then, having formed their personal sound and style, they released their first demo.
The band's maiden EP, called "Contaminated Salvation", is released since February 2014, receiving positive reviews from Greek and foreign media. In order to promote their material, the band went on a series of performances with major artists in the field such as Possessed, Flotsam & Jetsam, Warrel Dane (Nevermore, Sanctuary) and David Vincent and his band I Am Morbid.

Having gained a lot of experience on stage and now new material, the band decides in 2019 to make a major shift in its course and style, starting with the name change to Typhus, in order to better serve its musical vision.
So, in the middle of 2019, Typhus enter the studio to record their first album. Shortly afterwards, the name of Typhus' debut album "Mass Produced Perfection" is announced, as well as the collaboration with the renowned Par Olofsson (Exodus, Immolation, Malevolent Creation, The Faceless etc.) for the cover design. The album will be released in September 2020, via Punishment 18 Records (Italy). With an obvious shift of the band towards more progressive spectrums, keeping the Thrash element strong, Mass Produced Perfection receives equally good reviews from the press, continuing the band's upward trajectory.

The future proved to be difficult for the band and the promotion of their debut album, as obstacles arose due to the pandemic. The cancellation of two scheduled tours, however, did not deter Typhus, who with the return to normal conditions, returned with a series of performances both domestically and in Europe, participating in major music festivals such as Wacken Open Air (Germany 2022), Skulls of Metal (Spain, 2022), Riedler Open Air (Germany 2022), etc.
Entering 2023, Typhus take part in a Balkan minitour with Athenians Amken, which was followed by two shows in the Netherlands. The highlight, however, of the band's concert career came with the start of the 2023 summer season, where Typhus were reintroduced to Greek audiences with their participation in Athensrocks Festival, playing alongside huge names in the genre such as Ghost, Candlemass and local legends Rotting Christ.
Typhus, after a full year of live performances, return with new material and re-invent themselves with a statement track that heralds the beginning of a new era for the band.
With an obvious shift to more classic Heavy Metal sounds, they present the first single entitled ''Catacombs of Sancre Tor'' of their upcoming album, introducing a new, more mature dimension to their sound, while keeping the fundamental elements that defined the band's previous works. So this is a long-awaited return, with Typhus intending to give a taste of what is to come.
