Silent Moments

It was one of those summer nights when the air had a sweet warmth and the night promised calm and rest. The sun had just set and the time was around 9:30 in the evening. I had found my seat in a picturesque summer cinema.

The audience was scattered, couples whispering to each other, groups of friends laughing and taking pictures, and a few lone cinephiles who, like me, had come to enjoy the experience of an outdoor screening. My only company was a glass of cold beer and a bag of chips, which I mechanically passed around as we waited for the film to start. The lights dimmed and the screen filled with the first scenes of the movie "Decision to Leave". As the plot unfolded, I found myself immersed in a dark and fascinating world. The film began with the death of a man falling off a mountain, and I was soon introduced to Detective Hae-jun, a deeply human and complex character investigating the case. The actors' performances were riveting. Tang Wei as Seo-rae, the victim's widow, was mysterious and charming, causing doubt and tension with every appearance. Park Hae-il as Hae-jun brought a sensitivity and depth to his character, which made the twisting of his emotions even more intense. The atmosphere of the film was charged with suspense and tension, and the visuals were stunning. Each scene was a small artistic creation, with photography playing an important role in telling the story. The night around me felt darker and my beer bitter as I watched the twists and turns. When the film ended, I felt like I had been through an intense emotional and psychological journey. The story had fully captivated me and the night seemed calmer, clearer after the experience. "Decision to Leave" was a film I would not soon forget. A true masterpiece that managed to combine mystery, romance and tragedy in a way that only Park Chan-wook can achieve. It was a night that was worth every moment of it.
